One day I will find a man who isn't intimidated by the fact that I'm a woman with a badge.
It was going so well, the date. He picked me up and he complimented me. He took me out, and laughed at my jokes and he was actually really funny. We were talking and it was really nice. Plus he was hot, like really smokin' hot, you know? Things were going great. We went ice skating, of all things. A guy who actually takes me ice skating and held my hand and all of that sweet, nice things that guys are supposed to do.
Then eventually he tells me that he's some banking investor, which is no big deal. I tell him that I'm a cop and he all but ran away. All quiet and nervous the rest of the night. Didn't touch me at all, dropped me off and didn't open the door or even say bye. I told him that he could call me again if he wanted and he says 'yeah sure, maybe.'
Argh. Men. Someone explain them to me, because I'm fairly attractive. I shouldn't have this problem. |

Hey you know what I hate? Paperwork. It's like the bane of my existence. I'm sure lots of cops say that. In fact I'm sure all cops say that, but it's the truth. I don't keep good enough records of things that I do. I don't have time to sit down and think about how I did something down to the letter when it's one of those situations where it's life or death. Everything is such a rush and who even has the patience to figure things out like that? As long as I'm not breaking the rules, it shouldn't matter so much.
Either that or we should just get someone to actually follow us around and do our paperwork when we're out in the field. Like a stenographer right there with us. That would be amazing. Then I wouldn't have to do it all. All our problems would be solved.
Also. I'm getting sick, I think. Which sucks, since I just had my birthday. I'm pumping copious amounts of vitamin C into my blood stream. We'll see if that helps. |
